Moose Run Golf Course is America’s northernmost 36-hole golf facility. It is known for its beautiful natural scenery and challenging layout. This course is located just outside Anchorage and is part of Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. It offers both public and military golfing.
The course offers magnificent views and is set in the Chugach Mountain Range. The fairways and conditions are in top condition, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The course is open through 2022. Golfers must bring an adult with them.

The Curtis D Menard Memorial Sports Center is a multi-purpose arena that originally served as the Wasilla Multi-Use Sports Complex. It is a 102,000 square foot facility that has the capacity to accommodate 5,000 spectators. It is located in Wasilla, Alaska, and is the perfect venue for your next event. It has been the venue for many local high school sports teams and other events.
Curtis D Menard spearheaded the Wasilla Multi-Use Sports Complex and served as the steering committee’s chairman throughout the process. In addition to spearheading the project, he also served on the Matanuska-Susitna Borough School Board, the Alaska State House of Representatives, and the Senate. His passion for the area’s recreational facilities was evident during his many tenures in the Matanuska-Susita Borough.
The Curtis D Menard Memorial Sports Center is an excellent facility to host sporting events, including hockey, ice hockey, and other winter sports. The center also features three community meeting rooms and a fully equipped commercial kitchen. As the largest multi-use sports facility in the Mat-Su Valley, the Menard Center offers a range of amenities for athletes and spectators of all ages and levels.

• Wasilla Multi-Use Sports Complex
The Wasilla Multi-Use Sports complex is a 102,000-square-foot multi-purpose arena that was originally named the Curtis D. Menard Memorial Sports Center. The facility can hold 5,000 spectators. The complex features many different types of sports and activities, including hockey, baseball, basketball, and softball.
The complex opened five years ago, and was promoted as the Matanuska-Susitna Valley’s premier indoor sports complex. But legal issues are keeping the complex from being fully operational. A representative of private property owner Gary Lundgren says a final resolution could be more than a year away.
In 2009, the complex was renamed the Curtis D. Menard Memorial Sports Center in his honor. Menard was a strong advocate for the sports center and was instrumental in seeing the project through to completion. Ballard*King & Associates helped the town with its planning, programming, and operations analysis.
The complex cost $12.9 million to build and opened on March 6, 2004. This amount does not include the attorney fees that were incurred during the legal dispute between the city and the developer.
